Making a Quilt

I have been quilting for a whole year now, I can't believe it!
Blogs are the best, I have learned so much from the blogs that I read.

My next quilt will be made from this fabric that I found at The Purl Soho on my recent trip to NYC.
It will be my apple quilt.

I will be working from a pattern I saw in Quick Quilts
it's a twist on a patchwork quilt.

This is my fabric selection.
Some of these 1/2 yards were bundled at The Purl Soho shop, others I bought separtely.
I think they will be so cute all pieced together.
The browns, and I am sooooo very happy that polka dots will be on this quilt.
Green and red apples (and pears too), love them!
Greens, and those little apples on the black fabric.
They were on the very top shelf and caught my eye.
And stripes!!
Those little apples on the cream fabric
were right next to the ones with the black background.
This will be the backing of the quilt.
I bought 3 yards, I hope I have enough.
So here I go!
Next step is to get cutting.

I will be cutting
49 rectangles 4 1/2" x 8 1/2"
98 squares 4 1/2" x 4 1/2 "
98 rectangles 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

Whew, that is a lot of cutting.
I will post more progress soon.

My goal is to submit this quilt over at Amy's Creative Side
for the Fall Bloggers Quilt Festival
