Even More Winter Decor

Welcome to our wintery home!

You are likely to be greeted by this sweet lady, Sadie Daisy!

This is my first attempt at a homemade wreath and I am lovin' it!

After dropping off Big J at preschool, Lil J and I headed over to the Joann Craft Store for a little shopping trip (he almost got us kicked out...more on that later).  I think the most expensive thing about this wreath is the spray paint.  I found some greenery on the 90% off rack, $.49 each - I bought 2 just for the berries and the pinecones and spraypainted them a light blue and added a little silver on top.

The wreath was $3.99 and the ribbon was about the same so what is that?
About $10 (ok $20 if you count the spray paint - but I can use that again so it counts as a fraction of the price, right?) for a lovely winter wreath.

And this is my foyer, the latest creations are on the little table.

I am LOVING this decoration.  I got the pattern from Twin Stitchers, check out their patterns, they are all so super cute.

So once I as done I got a 3 pack of stretched canvas and glued it around the back of the 1st canvas and sandwiched it between another canvas and added some cutie ribbon.

And this little ribbon topiary was inspired by one of my wonderful 12 days of Handmade Christmas Ornaments participants - Sarah of At Home With the Hinsons, plus she said I was pretty in one of my comments so she put a smile on my face today :D.
Thank you Sarah!

I hope you like it!  I have never decorated with a "winter" theme and I really like the blues all around the house.  Soon enough it will be Valentines and red will creep back in here.

And I won a great award today from

The Lemonade Stand Award
is awarded for being a blogger who shows great attitude and gratitude.

Awww!  What a great award, thanks so much Paojava!  I am flattered.

PS - are you wondering why Lil J almost got us kicked out of Joann's?
Well I doubt they would really kick us out, but it sounded more dramatic.

I was checking out and the little man sneaked over to the mototized chairs that are parked near the exit doors and turned the chair on and backed it into the cash register stand.  The girl looked up and said, "oh my gosh, what is he doing?"  HAHA, this is normal girlie, what until you have one of your own!

PPS - my glue gun and I got in a fight today and it won.  I now have a nastly burn with a small hole in my finger, stupid glue gun!

Thank goodness I have a Tow Mater bandaid to help me heal.

Never heard of Tow Mater.
You are pretty and smart.
That's less then what I would pay for a wreath at the Thrift!
Great post

Auntie Sue, Tow Mater is Mater from the movie Cars. He is the tow truck. I have him on my bandaid :D.

Beautiful! I never thought to have a little interim before Valentine's hits us snap dab in the heart! :) I love the blue for a change from the green & red we just got out of. Thanks for the ideas.
