Valentine Treats

I found this awesome site that called Tagxedo that make free tag clouds.
Like this one...
I made this at the Tagxedo site in about 2 seconds.
Just copied in my blog url and played with the options a couple times.

Which brings me to Jacob's class valentine treats.
I did the same thing but instead of using a url, I typed in the names of the kids in Jacob's class and his teachers and created this in the shape of a heart.
Then I printed several of the images (because you can just save the image on your computer) and a sheet of photo fabric paper.

The teachers each got a coffee cozy with their kiddos names on them.

And the kiddos got this little felt pouch with the same image on the back.
I put a couple of crayons and some candy inside for Valentines Day and thought this would be great for mom's to keep in their purse with crayons and coloring sheets.

And the back makes an extra pocket.
You know for hot wheels and stuff.
Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day!

My Funny Valentines

We all know that Valentine's Day is for the girls, right?

But my boys' had special valentines of their own this year.
This boy especially.
A mommy of one of the little girls in Little One's preschool class emailed the best story to me today.

She said her daughter, Mary Martha (or Mary MARFA as Jacob says) gave my little one a hug and a kiss at the end of school one day and when her daddy asked her to be his valentine she said that Jacob is her valentine and her price and they would live happily ever after.

Oh, Mary Martha...
This is one true boy.

I don't even know if he knows what a prince is?
They both refuse to watch any of the girl Disney movies.

No he wears monster truck earphones for the fun of it.
And loves to make noise with his noise maker and ride his motorcycle.

But he is pretty snuggly.

And who doesn't like a boy on his motorcycle??

At least they both made out on the loot at school

And got handmade valentines from girlies

Happy Love Day!

Sherbet Pips Rag Quilt

I got a Moda Sherbet Pips jelly roll for my birthday
(thanks Mom!)
The precuts are out but seem to be hard to find.

I found this jelly roll quilt at Sweetwater after a quick google search and LOVED it,
so here is my version in Sherbet Pips.

I used the same process but did not bind this quilt, I left the edges raw.

This is really cute fabric with girls on scooters, girls on tree swings, puppies and scarves.

I used a lot of white strips for the backing but added some matching solids and prints from the line to give it some interest.

(sorry for the icky pictures, it is very dreary outside for sunny Florida)

Postage Stamp Quilt - DONE!

It's done, not just the quilt top but the WHOLE thing.
Thank you to Rachel at P.S. I Quilt for the great quilt-a-long!

I finished up between last night and today.
The quilting was not too bad, but I only did parallel straight(ish) lines.

Once that was done the binding was easy.

I finished the hand stitching of the binding this afternoon.

The backing is FLANNEL!
I love the backing!

I tried to get a picture of the whole thing but only the short people were home
and I really wanted to post this today.
I will have to get the husband to help out with that picture.
