Silliness

Just some random silliness on this Friday.

Our Family written in sidewalk chalk by Big J.
Kindergarten here we come!

My faithful shopping buddy at the local craft store.

The boy is almost 5 and has finally tried a cheeseburger, so proud!

Bathtime with home depot safetly goggles on.
Safety first people.

Have a lovely weekend.

My craft room - no boys allowed!

I have been working away to get my little room in our new house all girlied up, and I think it is getting there.

So welcome!

It has a door which is a very exciting part of the room - but for some reason the husband did not provide me a lock - hmmmmmmmm.

It's a fun and bright craft room, I made these panels for the window and they currently hang a bit too short - but who cares!
The husband will someday hang the curtain rod lower,
it bothers him more than it does me.

This is my little sewing area.

My little, little Make Life pinwheel quilt hangs on the wall,
I wish I bought another charm pack.

And I found a box filled with things from my college years (I thought I lost those things) so my diamond board proudly hangs in my craft room.

Now, here is my latest quilt, it is another Make Life quilt made from jelly roll strips.
I am lovin' it!

I gave it to Big J so now each of my boys have their own cozy quilts.
Perfect fabric for a little boy.  This is Lil J's quilt, also from Sweetwater, can't wait for their next line of fabrics.

Hope you enjoy!  Happy Earth Day!

The Fair

The fair is back in town and we went with our sweet friends the Williams' again this year, hopefully this will be an annual tradition between our families.

This is Mrs. Williams, my sweet friend from this post awhile back. Love her!

The kiddos found those swings again,
and Lil J was tall enough to enjoy all of the rides too.

These were two rides we are still getting brave enough to ride, maybe next year?

Me and the Husband

And this sweet little one was still in her mommy's tummy last year.  She is ADORABLE!

So much fun, thanks friends!

Yep it got quiet

I think all of us moms know that quiet simply cannot mean anything good.

At first you think, "awwww they are playing nicely and quietly in their rooms - wow I am such a great mom".  Then the quiet lasts for wwaayy toooooo loooong and you realize they must be up to something.  But the Y&R on the DVR is really gettin' good and you BEG for quiet sometimes and so you just let it remain quiet.

Until

One of them says, "mmmooooommmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy".

Big J emerges from the hallway and says, "Jacob peed on the floor."
Awwww thanks Jacob, that was so sweet!
And the story continues, "he peed in the firehouse potty".
Now seriously, WHAT!

So I get up and take a look in their bathroom and low and behold I find this little treasure filled with boy pee.

What possesses boys to do these things!?!

And of course a lovely puddle on the bathroom floor.  The boy is nowhere to be found...hmmmmmm could he be guilty?  I think so.

So he finally enters the bathroom and all I can do is laugh.  He is looking for "new underwears".

The face of a very guilty boy.

Hmmmm, do you think the older one was in on it?
(They are sitting on their little firehouse (dollhouse as I call it) where the little toilet furniture came from).

Watch out ladies, he could be your son in law one day.

Springtime in FLA

This spring as been wonderful around here.  Lots of "yellow trees" and even "pink trees" blooming EVERYWHERE (don't know their proper name)!
And the weather has been perfect!

Both boys are playing soccer for the Y and the husband is even the assistant coach.

At least they still like to hug us!

Big J likes to let everyone know he is #1.  I really don't know where he picked this up.  Maybe from watching too much ND football with his daddy - just sayin'.

We also went strawberry picking with the B's.  Great day and good berries.
They even had a zip line for the kiddos.

Our sweet cousins came to visit from Michigan and of course we headed over to Disney.

Lil J is actually asleep in the picture.

And of course the Easter Bunny came and brought goodies for the boys, including new bird houses to paint.

And this is our first year to dye Easter Eggs - they loved it.

Now onto summer, I think we will be spending lots of time here...

Happy Spring!

More Before and After

Wow!  I have not posted anything in quite awhile.  I miss you my little blog.  But things have been busy around this place and we are still settling into our new house.

I wanted to share some more pictures of our new home.

First is our dining room.
This is a before shot in the middle of my parents moving out.

And this is an after shot...

It is hard to see in the before picture, but there was wall paper on the top half of the chair rail and a different wall paper on the bottom half.  The paper on the bottom came off fine, the top not so much.  So we had it painted over and re-textured.  The wood work was painted but we decided to leave the crown moulding at the top of the room the original color (at least for now).

We actually added wallpaper back into the room.

The bottom half is actually paintable wallpaper in a basketweave pattern.  Love this stuff!  It gives the wall just a bit of dimension and you can just paint over it when you get tired of the color.
The husband put up the wallpaper so I want to be sure to thank him for doing that!

This is a view from our entryway.  And Sadie looking out the window for a friend.

Now onto the kids' bathroom.

This is my sorry attempt at wallpaper removal.  This is the point where I decided, told, begged my husband to please just hire a contractor to do the rest of the house.
He agreed.

So here is the before shot of the kiddos bathroom.

And the after shots.  It is a boy's surfer theme. I got the mirrors at IKEA and the surf board towel hooks at Rooms To Go, the shower curtain at Target and the wall art from Etsy.

This piece of furniture is acting as our pantry.  My parents found this antique cabinet and decided to leave it for us.  Since we are using it as a pantry I wanted to cover the glass with a fabric so you could not see the mess of food in there.  So I bought this fabric that went well with the gray walls but the hubs thought it was too much but came up with the alternative to use the wrong side of the fabric and it worked well.  You can see just a hint of the pattern without it being so overwhelming.

And those silhouettes of my boys were made by the one and only NieNie at Christmas time.  She signed the one of Big J on the left .  I love them!  Please go visit her blog and read all about her story if you have not done so.  It is amazing what she had been through and continues to deal with each day.

And now just a couple more fun shots of my home.
These are the harsh realities of spring break at my house.

Spongebob and Squidward visit often over here.

Puppies get caught doing bad things to helpless stuffed animals.

And little boys like to empty all of their toys for a new place to hide.
Even Mr. Krabs cannot believe the mess!

Happy Easter!
