That was fast

Our house officially went up for sale on Monday, the sign up went up on Tuesday and I am sitting here waiting for a realtor to show it to a buyer this evening.

WOW.

I am been cleaning for 2 week straight it seems and of course all day today.  Could this be it?  Could they make an offer?  Could I be doing this for the next several months????

ACK!

Will let you all know how it goes.  This is stressful!

Her name is Lola

This weekend we said bye-bye to the minivan and hello to

Lola!

She is my new car, I am so excited.
It's a Honda Crosstour and I am LOVIN' it!

Bye Bye Minivan!
You served your purpose well - you hauled double strollers, multiple car seats, potties, groceries, puppies, toys (lots of toys) and this family faithfully...
but our relationship had to end.

My poor Big J cried (yes he actually cried) when it finally hit him that we were taking the new car home and "mamavan" was staying at the dealership.  Sorry baby, it was time.

For Sale

It's happening...

We are putting our sweet little house up for sale.

We moved in only a couple of weeks after getting married and are leaving with these two little ones (and a dog and a cat).

They met and have become best friends at this house.

Woke up on their 1st birthdays here.

Welcomed Daddy home from work in the backyard here.

Learned to walk here.

Splished Splashed here.

Celebrated holidays here.

This will be an interesting process, we are just in the beginning stages.  Who knows how this will all play out, but I am hoping it is for the best.

I need help. Please help me.

Ok so I have been blogging for over 6 months now and feel that I can admit my problem to you all.  I need you help/advice/expertice whatever you want to call it - I need it.

You see I have a problem with saving my kids' artwork.  And it was manageable at first and now with my Little One in preschool too, I can just feel it getting out of hand.

I did see a wonderful idea from the organizing guy on Oprah to take digital pictures of the artwork and create a photobook from the pictures.  I did it!  No problem there...

But then he said to THROW OUT the actual artwork.  I thought I could do it once the photobooks came back but as you can see it have received 2 books and yes...

the artwork is still here.

This is just from my older son's 2 day and 3 day preschool classes.  It's not so harmful in this ugly container but here is the problem...

It won't fit in there anymore and I now have a pile of 4 day preschool and a my Little One's 2 day preschool artwork in a pile in the corner.  Its giving me the heebie jeebies just staring at me over there!

What do you all do with it all?

Do you throw it out?

Do you just keep a special few?  Will my kids be horribly offended that I threw away their artwork and need therapy in their 20's?

I know this will only get worse as the years go one and elementary school starts so I am asking for help now.

I am really in the decrapification mood (that wonderful term was brought to you by the Thrifty Decor Chick). Love her!

I must clean my office/crap craft room.  It is driving me crazy.
HELP!
HELP PLEASE!

PS - I just have to share this LOVELY story with you all.
Big J gotin a fist fight (yes a fight) at McDonalds yesterday and thoroughly embarassed me in front of my friends and the other little boy's mother.  So I made him apologize to the little boy and have a 5 minute time out.  Then I made him apologize to the boy's mom - he was NOT happy about that one.  But it made me feel better.

So needless to say, the husband did not have the same reaction that I did, he was thrilled!  As were the people in his office.  But I made him come home and have the "you are not allowed to start a fight" talk with the Big J.  Of course it was finished with the "but you better finish it" line .
Lovely, right?

So later on my son said to me,  "mommy, you're a loser".  Which to his credit he heard me say to a friend about myself at McDonalds because I had to borrow lunch money from her because I forgot my wallet.

So I gave the child the evil eye and told him I am not a loser.  So to make it even better, the husband went over and showed him how to make the "L" on the forehead with his fingers.

Yes we are quality people!

Both Babies at Preschool

Both of my babies are officially in preschool.
Lil J started this morning and did beautifully!  Not a tear, not a "mommy, when are you coming back?"  No clinging to my leg - just a big boy excited about preschool.

He ran the whole way there - from the parking garage to the front steps of the building.

His big brother even drew him a picture before school.
It's on the fridge to be saved forever.

Our famous car seat picture, I have one for both boys.

The theme of the classroom is lions -
a particular favorite of mine.

Their class mascot is Louie the Lion.  So sweet.

My little one is not little anymore.  He will be 3 at the end of the month.  My baby.

PS - Guess who the room mom is??

Can you guess, yeah it's me.  I am so excited!

I loved it so I had to give it a try tonight with some of my Sweetwater Authentic fabrics (and some others mixed in) along with my saved Moda selvages.  Go visit their blog, they are adding some really cute Valentine's Day kits to their Etsy shop every day.

So do you like them?

I thought I would keep one and give one away to one of you all!

Just become a follower and let me know in a comment...

If you want another chance to win it, leave me another comment telling me about your favorite sewing project.

I will choose a winner on Wednesday around 7 pm eastern time.

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

The husband walked in the room while I was sewing and asked what I was doing, I answered that I was making pin cushions.
He responded, can't you just buy one for $.99 or something?

I said, "WHAT!" and gave him the evil eye so he left me alone to craft.

Have a nice weekend ~

Even More Winter Decor

Welcome to our wintery home!

You are likely to be greeted by this sweet lady, Sadie Daisy!

This is my first attempt at a homemade wreath and I am lovin' it!

After dropping off Big J at preschool, Lil J and I headed over to the Joann Craft Store for a little shopping trip (he almost got us kicked out...more on that later).  I think the most expensive thing about this wreath is the spray paint.  I found some greenery on the 90% off rack, $.49 each - I bought 2 just for the berries and the pinecones and spraypainted them a light blue and added a little silver on top.

The wreath was $3.99 and the ribbon was about the same so what is that?
About $10 (ok $20 if you count the spray paint - but I can use that again so it counts as a fraction of the price, right?) for a lovely winter wreath.

And this is my foyer, the latest creations are on the little table.

I am LOVING this decoration.  I got the pattern from Twin Stitchers, check out their patterns, they are all so super cute.

So once I as done I got a 3 pack of stretched canvas and glued it around the back of the 1st canvas and sandwiched it between another canvas and added some cutie ribbon.

And this little ribbon topiary was inspired by one of my wonderful 12 days of Handmade Christmas Ornaments participants - Sarah of At Home With the Hinsons, plus she said I was pretty in one of my comments so she put a smile on my face today :D.
Thank you Sarah!

I hope you like it!  I have never decorated with a "winter" theme and I really like the blues all around the house.  Soon enough it will be Valentines and red will creep back in here.

And I won a great award today from

The Lemonade Stand Award
is awarded for being a blogger who shows great attitude and gratitude.

Awww!  What a great award, thanks so much Paojava!  I am flattered.

PS - are you wondering why Lil J almost got us kicked out of Joann's?
Well I doubt they would really kick us out, but it sounded more dramatic.

I was checking out and the little man sneaked over to the mototized chairs that are parked near the exit doors and turned the chair on and backed it into the cash register stand.  The girl looked up and said, "oh my gosh, what is he doing?"  HAHA, this is normal girlie, what until you have one of your own!

PPS - my glue gun and I got in a fight today and it won.  I now have a nastly burn with a small hole in my finger, stupid glue gun!

Thank goodness I have a Tow Mater bandaid to help me heal.

Winter Decor - No Mantel, No Problem!

I have been decorating my home with some wintery decor today.  The Cricut has been workin' it making snowflakes for the house.

I do not have a fireplace/mantel so instead I decorate on top of our entertainment furniture.  It is nothing spectacular but my Big J said, "wow its like a winter wonderland in here" when he got home from preschool this afternoon.  Awww, what a sweet boy

The handywork of the Cricut - love it!

The best part is that I can still use some of our Christmas ornaments, some bought...

and some that I just made, like my sweet little sled!

This is my decorated mirror in our foyer.  I used some of our ice skate ornaments and added my Willow Tree statue that the husband got me for Christmas.

And here is that same place just a couple of days ago.
Looks so cluttered now - but doesn't all Christmas decor look different after Christmas??

A Winter Wonderland Vacation

Isn't this just beautiful!
I am a little jealous of those of you who live in the snow, but then again  I was only there for 5 days so months of this...hmmmm, I will have to think on that one.

We went on a big family vacation over the New Year holiday and we had a wonderful time in the snow.  We traveled to Banner Elk, NC to the Sugar Mountain resort and stayed on the top (about 4800 feet up) of Sugar Mountain.
It was so pretty and the people were just so nice.

My sweet Big J made a little heart for his mommy.

Our little family at the sledding hill.

Big J loved, loved, loved sledding

Big J making his first snow angel.

Daddy and his little boys.

My sweet little J

Lil J with the beautiful mountains behind him.

Brothers heading up the hill again.

Lil J decided to make a snowman of his own, he was getting ready to stand up from his sled and just decided right then and there to make a little snow angel.

Our New Year's Eve - me and Big J at nighttime tubing on Sugar Mountain, Little J did not want anything to do with that so he and daddy watched us for an hour.

Me and the husband on our last day.  We woke up to a howling wind and our car temp. said 3 degrees!
SO COLD, I could not handle that!

But we did see lots of incredible scenery that we would never see in Florida.
It was just beautiful up there in the mountains. I cannot wait to go back.
