I decided on making these blocks into a table runner.
Thanks to all who commented with their suggestions, I really appreciate it!
Finished the binding this afternoon in the car-line while waiting to pick up Big J.
Its pretty big, 13 x 68 inches. But it fits our dining room table just right.
Here are some closeups of the blocks...
This is a close up of the quilting on this runner.
I decided to use my walking foot to do a straight stitch. I avoided stitiching over the blocks and zig-zagged around them instead to create squares on the back.
I must admit this was not my favorite part of this project and I have a new respect for those who quilt entire quilts with straight lines.
The binding is the same Moda Natural fabric that I used for the blocks.
Thought the runner was busy enough that a plain binding would frame it nicely.

Thank you for sharing your table runner at A Crafty Soiree! I like how each square has a different Halloween motif in it, very fun, and I'm quite partial to polka dots so I really love the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the details in it! It is so cute! Thanks SO much for joining in on Thrilling Thursdays @ Paisley Passions. I hope to see you again this week :)
