My Favorite Projects of 2010

These are some of my favorite quilts and other projects of the past year.
Happy New Year!

Snowflakes

I am slowly but surely deChristmasing our home.
The tree is out of the family room and the stockings have been taken down.
The red in the house is gone and replaced with whites, silvers and blues.
And snowflakes, lots of snowflakes.
We don't get the real stuff.
No, not ever, not even once.
So we pretend with pretty glittered snowflakes.

All around the house.

We are looking forward to the new year.
And to January.
Up until 4 years ago it was a pretty uneventful month for us.

But this little guy came along at the end of the month,
And I get to plan a birthday party for this almost 4 year old.
Happy New Year to all!

Better Late than Never - A Christmas Quilt

Well I finally quilted my Christmas quilt on my new sewing machine today.
Yes, it is late, but at least it will be nice to have next year!
(My labels from the Sweetwater Label Crew ~
check it out, I love getting these cute labels each month)

It isn't bound yet, just pieced and quilted.
I finished and ran outside to catch the light before dark.

These adorable reindeer are from the Dash Away pattern at Twin Stitchers.
They are so cute!

A close-up of the quilting.

The binding will be the red with white polka dots.
I'll have to tuck it away for next year.
But at least I finished it!

Blur

Love the Blur!
Just some pretty pictures I took today.
It looks like fall in Florida right now,
the leaves are changing all around us because its been so cold.

Our Christmas tree is still up, maybe we will take it down tomorrow...
maybe not.
The husband is on vacation all week!
I asked and asked and asked him to turn the sprinklers on so that we could have some icecicles in the morning, it is going to get to freezing overnight!!!
Big news for us here in FLA.

But he said no, maybe another fun neighbor will think like me and turn their sprinklers on tonight.

Try to stay warm.
 And of course stay cozy!

Merry Christmas!

My babies had a wonderful Christmas.
Lots of fun all around.

Fun traditions from setting out the milk and cookies,
tp new matching jammies (still keep saying this but...probably won't last much longer)

This little bug actually slept in his Santa hat.

Last night the boys each got to open the gift that their brother got for the other.
They were so excited.
A helicopter for Jacob and a lego set for Joey.
They shopped for each other this year.

And mommy and daddy got to open their special gifts made at school.

A picture with grandma

Our morning was great with our sweet boys,
their faces lit up because Santa came and left them wonderful toys.
My sweet husband surprised me with a brand new sewing machine!
And he was surprised with a mini-kegorator.

All is well at the Heaney House.
Merry Christmas!!

Silhouette Boys

Merry Christmas Eve!
I made silhouettes of my boys last year and made them again this year.

Last year's were made by the wonderful Nienie.
I framed them side by side and placed them in the boys' hallway.

This year I cut the silhouettes out and fabric mod-podged them to a piece of
canvas-looking fabric.
Then I put them in an embroidery hoop, added a ribbon and there you go!

I love them!

I also turned the silhouettes into little Christmas ornaments.

These were last year's

A new tradition ~ annual Christmastime silhouettes.
Have a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Christmas Is Almost Here!

Here we are at December 23rd.
My babies are getting more and more excited about the big day.  They are out of school, staying up really late watching Christmas movies and playing.  Which has also meana they have been sleeping in a little bit.

Last night we celebrated Christmas with extended family.
Aunts and Uncles and Cousins,
Grandparents, Parents

and even a bonfire.
Thank you Uncle John!

It was a cool and breezy night, pefect for cozy quilts (this is Jacob's) and smores.
And growing cousins!

And of course cool presents...
night vision goggles, legos, toy story and hot wheels ~
Boy Heaven!

And our house is ready for the big day.

We are so happy to receive so many fun Christmas cards this year.
Yesterday the only mail we got was Christmas cards!
No junk mail, no bills, nothing but
Christmas Cards!

That is the best!!!!

The stocking are hung from the fireplace!
We have a fireplace in our new home.
BUT we are under very strict rules from two little boys that we are not to have a fire in the fireplace on Christmas Eve.

No burning Santa's booty!

Our sweet Little People nativity set has been loved on and played with.

And even our sweet Sadie the Lady is patiently waiting for Santa.
She is so happy we are all hanging around at home, instead of running like we normally do.

So we patiently await the big day.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
